Le Meridien Russell Hotel – Built in 1898 and situated in the centre of Bloomsbury, it is one of the most excellent primary 4-stars accommodations in London. The perfect location is the nearby underground as well as all main train stations and airports. The British Museum, Covert Garden and Oxford Street are all in walking distance. Its Victorian Gothic style building presents traditional wood decorating with panels in its rooms. The main restaurant is a fabulous feature of the hotel being a large airy room with a wealth of period features. The hotel also has a smaller, more attractive, bistro-style restaurant with a polished wood floor and subdued lighting. The facade of the hotel is a good example of ornate red brick Victorian renaissance architecture. The medium sized lobby area with its main marbled staircase, ornate coved ceiling and gold detailing creates an air of historical elegance and is a great focal point of the hotel. One of London's oldest purpose built hotels, it is ideal for all types of travellers, the lobby being of particular interest.
