- Churchill Bar & Cigar Divan:The handsome Churchill Bar & Cigar Divan enjoys its own private entrance from Portman Square and provides members with the finest selection of malt whiskies in London together with special lunch and dinner menus.
The decor and ambience is reflective of a private retreat dedicated to the pleasures of the leaf. Warm wood panelling and humidors are accented by rich fabrics and distinctive appointments.
- Locanda Locatelli: Giorgio Locatelli, widely considered to be one of the best Italian chefs in Britain, opened his first independent restaurant, called Locanda Locatelli, on 14th February 2002 on the former site of Clementine's restaurant at the hotel. The restaurant and kitchen have undergone a £1.5 million refurbishment.
Locanda Locatelli is a family-run restaurant, with Giorgio running the kitchen and his wife, Plaxy, overseeing the front of house. Designs for the restaurant's interior, which seats 90 people, were created by David Collins.
'For some time I have dreamed of opening my own restaurant, like the one in the north of Italy in which I grew up,' says Giorgio. 'In true Italian style, Locanda Locatelli is a welcoming, inclusive restaurant.'
The essence of Giorgio's cooking highlights the natural flavours of quality produce, much of which is imported directly from Italy. The menu includes dishes such as insalata di sgombro allo zafferano (baby mackerel with saffron and salad leaves), tortelli d'erbe selvatiche all'olio aromatizzato (egg-free pasta parcel with wild herbs), coniglio al forno con polenta (rabbit with polenta and Parma ham) and polenta al vino speziato, pere, mousse di liquirizia (spiced wine polenta, pears and liquorice mousse). There is a particular emphasis on fresh pasta and a variety of regional Italian breads, all of which are made daily on the premises. There are also a number of dishes which can be shared.
The wine list, which is exclusively Italian, has been put together by Giorgio with Massimo Folli, Head of the Association of Italian Sommeliers. Wines from all over Italy are featured, including Barolo Brunate Voerzio and Barbaresco Vigna Starderi Vietti from Piemont, Gewürztraminer Elena Walch and San Leonardo di Vallagarina Gonzaga from Alto Adige, Chardonnay Planeta and Duca Enrico di Salaparuta from Sicily, and Tignanello Antinori and Sassicaia Marchesi Rochetta from Tuscany.
Giorgio's culinary talents have earned him an enviable international reputation as well as a host of accolades, including Outstanding London Chef at the Moët & Chandon London Restaurant Awards in 2001, his first Michelin star at Zafferano in 1999, and 'Best Italian Restaurant' at the London Carlton Restaurant Awards for two consecutive years
